Strategic Linking

A website's internal link structure is an important component of SEO. Strategic linking within a website will enhance the keyword relevancy in the eyes of the search engines. Additionally, we identify the external links that are driving traffic to your site and develop a strategy to increase the number of quality inbound links to your site.

Internal links are the links that connect the pages of your site to each other. The way these links work within your site is another important factor when optimizing your site for the search engines. Linking the pages together properly allows the search engine crawlers to visit more pages on your site, not just the home page. The more pages the crawler indexes, the greater the chance of one of those pages being listed for a particular search query. In other words, if each page is linked to every other page on the site (usually in the navigation), then the greater the chances a crawler will "see" the other pages.

Inbound links, or links from other sites to your site, are also essential to achieving better search engine listings. Sites that link to your site help the search engine algorithm rank your site, especially if the site linking to your site is a relevant site and a site that is ranked well itself. Think of it as a popularity contest --- if you get a link from an already popular website, then you look more important to the search engines and to your site visitors. This gives your site a better shot at a higher listing in the search results.
