Gil Parris is an acclaimed guitar soloist whose style is a hybrid of jazz, blues, R&B, rock and light funk. His playing is influenced by sax, pedal steel and piano players, which gives him a fresh, unique style. Gil is most notable for a clean and precise sound that earned him side-man spots with established bands in the genre such as Blood, Seat & Tears, as well as the praise of music critics everywhere.

In 2001, Gil was nominated for a Grammy for his performance in the compilation "Public Domain." Since then, Gil has become one of the only artists to have ever released albums in over four different genres: R&B, smooth jazz, traditional jazz and blues. He has also played and recorded with over a dozen bands, contributed instructional articles for guitar magazines and produced videos for the Hot Licks series.
