Optimized Content

Relevant, optimized content is perhaps the single most important factor used to rank sites in most search engine algorithms. Keyword usage, density, placement, spacing, and titles are attributes that the algorithms may include in their ranking calculation. Often what appear to be minor modifications to the content within a site can have a major impact on keyword rankings.

We work with your existing content to make sure it is optimized for the search engines, but also useful and readable for the site's visitors. If you don't have anything written, we can help you develop your content to be insightful for your readers, yet optimized for the search engines.

Words Words Words
The more pages full of words, the better. The simplest way to think about your website is as a giant net. You throw that giant net out into the Internet hoping to catch as many visitors as you can via the search engines. If the search engine sees your site and lots of relevant content that describes a number of relevant topics that relate to your business (or to the general subject of your site), then the greater the odds that one of those pages comes up for a search query.

Adding multiple pages of relevant content is one way to help capture more searches. More pages mean that there are more places for people to "land" on your site. If your site features lots of pages of content about different aspects of your business, you increase your chances of being listed more times (for more terms) in the search engines.

Also, when tomes of related content are present on your site, the search engines see that as a sign of importance, which can factor into the engines' ranking algorithms. Let's say you have over 100 pages of content on your site, all relating to your business and the different aspects of it. You have articles on how to use your widget the best way, how to find the best kind of widget to meet your needs, how your widgets impact the global economy, how the proprietary way you develop your widgets . . . You know your business the best, so why not crank out some content about it. On one hand, it gives people all the extra information they want, should they choose to read it. On the other hand, it opens up more search engine results potential for your site.

Optimized Copy
There is no right or wrong way to present your copy, but there are some best practices that help optimize the copy for a keyword or set of keywords. Using the keywords you are targeting throughout the copy is important, but it is also important not to overdo it. Search engines can recognize spammed lists of keywords and penalize the site for such practices. Ultimately, we help present user-friendly and search engine-friendly content, or content that is of value to the reader and content that displays to the search engines that the right keywords are present in the right places and right amounts.
